Hello @Maryann23 and @CarriB, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for reporting the syncing difficulties you've have been experiencing.

While reading your post I was wondering if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

I'd recommend following the troubleshooting steps provided in the help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

In regards to the screen fading @CarriB, please restart your Fitbit by following the steps in the article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Let me know if there's anything else I may do to help you.

Since the latest Apple update, my Fitbit has not been working well at all. I can't lift my arm to check time and it doesn't sync. The error on my phone says "no device found." This all started after I updated my iPhone10s which has previously been very compatable with all three Fitbits I've owned.. Will there be a Fitbit update to fix these errors?

Hello @P-RayeC, welcome on board. Thanks for the details provided.

While reading your post I was wondering if you noticed that the syncing difficulties started after the iOS 13+ update?

I'd also like to confirm you've followed the troubleshooting steps provided in the help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? If so, try the steps below:

- Open Settings app on phone
- Scroll down, tap Fitbit -> Toggle Location to 'Always'
- Ensure toggles next to Bluetooth and Background App Refresh are turned ON

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

I spent over an hour with Fitbit customer service chat today trying to fix the issue. End response is that I just have to wait for the bug fix from the latest IOS update.

At this point my Charge 3 won’t even connect to my iPhone. When I try to connect to my phone it says “no device found.”

Same issue with me. Charge 3 quit syncing in the midd;e of the night after no issues for three months, none of the suggested fixes have helped, Fitbit is 95 days old, that's it.

It still won't sync. It says no device found.

I think that is going to be the end game for me too. I just got an automatic update on iOS too and that is when the problem began. I have iPhone 8.

Finally got it to sync again after two days of trying. Not sure why it is working now, even though not working as well. I did reboot the charge 3, and went thru whole setup as if I was replacing it with A new Fitbit.

I have tried this too and it worked once for 10 minutes and then stopped syncing again.  I tried it again and it synced once and then stopped and showed no device available next time it tried to sync.  I tried reinstalling again and it took over 30 minutes to connect to the tracker and then sent the blue tooth 4 digit code but before I could enter it canceled the code and sent another and then did that about 10 times with new blue tooth codes.  I could never enter the code fast enough before it canceled and sent another code. I uninstalled it and then tried reinstalling it and now it will recognize the device but will not connect to it.   Any ideas on what to do next?  Also, I have started to see the top part of the watch face fade away.  This happened slowly before to my Charge 2 and then it eventually went black even thought it would sync with my phone and keep track of my activities.  It just wouldn't show up on the fitbit device only the phone.  When it works it works great but there is just a lot of problems interfacing with my iPhone 8.  Should I get a new phone or a new fitbit?  I can't afford both at the same time.  I love my fitbit when it is working and am feeling exasperated.

Maria,

I’m having the same issue, with my Charge 3 not syncing to the app. Also, the time on my Fitbit is 5 hours ahead for some reason. I have tried all the steps to troubleshoot multiple times, even trying to connect my Fitbit to a different phone, but nothing works. I just received this as a Christmas gift, and it worked great for a week, but quit syncing and giving the correct time on Jan 1st. Do I need to send it back to Fitbit and get a new one? Or is there a hard reset I can do on the Fitbit and see if that works?

Thanks,

After spending an hour on the phone with customer service trying to fix the issues with my Fitbit connecting to my phone, I asked the customer service representative if there was a Fitbit product that had not been affected by the new iPhone iOS update, 13.3. He replied that there was not. That all I can do is wait for the fix from Fitbit to work out the bugs from the update. I’m going to give it a couple of months to see if they can fix it but then I might look at other options. Getting an iWatch is a no brainer except for the price tag. The customer service representative kept saying how frustrating it has been to not be able to help anyone with their issues. He says they are working on it and I believe they must be. This is really a deal breaker for me and Fitbit if they can’t guarantee compatibility with my iPhone.

Isn’t Google trying to buy Fitbit? Google is associated with Android phones.  Are they trying to get us to switch phones?  Just saying. Apple has the iPhone and the Apple Watch. Hmmm.

It stops syncing because other apps are blocking it.

All you need to do is close all of your apps including Fitbit and then reopen your Fitbit app.

If it's an I-Phone, you double click the button below the screen and then swipe every page up until it leaves the screen.

I got the exact same problem on my Samsung A71 soo I'm kind of frustrating right now , it syncs the moment I reinstall my charge in the app but after that I keep in getting the error can't sync, I also tried every step but nothing seems to work, and before there were no issues,  and now so sins yesterday even the time is wrong on my Fitbit so I'm kind of angry. It costs so much money and for what for never working properly?
