I haven't used my Fitbit since last March. The device does not sync with my mac, it is charged. I followed the directions for resetting but after holding the button for 8 seconds the smiley face did not come on. Still stuck on the old screen. Can someone help?

Thanks for troubleshooting this syncing issue. Have you checked if your tracker is paired? If it isn't, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and follow the instructions provided there.
