Charge 3 won't sync

Never had a problem with my Charge 3 syncing before. Now my iPhone can’t find it around 9/10 attempts. Occasionally it will sync out of the blue. I’ve restarted my charge 3 several times. Sometimes this helps. Sometimes it does not. Why would this problem be intermittent?
