My charge 4 seems to work but the display is dark. I know how to adjust brightness settings but am unable to see anything on the screen so don't know what screen I am on  so cannot manipulate settings.

Have you tried to restart the Charge 4How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Same - it works but I have no display brightness at all. I can still charge it and the only way to see data is through my Fitbit app on my phone. I’ve had my charge 4 for just over2 years.
