Charge 4 blank screen

Hi

I bought a Charge 4 in April 2021 so it's out of warranty. The Charge hasn't been used for about 18 months but I want to give it to my husband to use now.

The problem is the screen is blank. It vibrates and the green light comes on but:

* While it initially charged up after being flat, it will no longer buzz when I put it on the charger.
* It gives a single short buzz after 9 seconds if I try to reset but doesn't do anything else
* The freshly installed and updated fitbit app is occasionally able to find the device and connects but then the app asks for the 4 digit PIN displayed on the screen. But the screen is blank. When we try again it says the device should be charging before it can connect.

I have looked at the threads about this and tried the advice:
* I have tried to restart it multiple times
* I have cleaned the charging ports on the device and the charger as instructed
* It's not possible to change the clock face until the device is connected to the app

Is there a solution to this problem or do I have a bricked device? If nothing else, I'd planned to resell the device so I am still out of pocket here.

I am unable to contact live support as it says they're too busy.

Small update: Today I managed to find someone / a bot to chat to. The case has been referred on and apparently I'll receive an email. Hopefully soon.

My charge 4 has done exactly the same. Did you manage to get it sorted?
