I have a Charge 4 purchased in October 2021. Within two months, the unit started being glitchy and it would crash for no reason. There was no damage caused to the unit, it simply stopped functioning properly. It happens now every couple of days.
Swiping sometimes stops working. The left button frequently sticks which causes activity to not be recorded and the unit to crash. Other times, the unit just crashes out of the blue. The only way to reset the unit is to plug in to the charger module and manually restart it. Which means you have to be sitting at a computer. Which is not possible when you're using the unit for the purpose for which is is intended - ie to be active!
Visiting this page, the extent of this problem is clear. On the first page alone, there have been eight - 8 - posts of this nature. Since the 18th of March. And I write this on the 21st of March. About a third of posts report similar issues. I can find no evidence of the problems actually being resolved. A few nonsense offers of a discount off the next purchase (As if!), some rather useless suggestions and requests to call in.
I would simply now like a replacement unit. I would rather continue to use fitbits, but if the company continues to avoid responsibility for selling faulty products, our only recourse will be to take this onto social media, and buy Garmins or Apples in stead.
Fitbit – will you replace my charge 4 please.

Had a chat with Fitbit support. Only advice was to manually restart the unit (it does this when it crashes anyway 🙄) , to clear user data, remove the device and re-sync. They gave me a case number and I have to waste more time getting back to them 'so they can check the warranty status' . Which they refused to do on this particular chat. Even though they will be well aware of the hundreds of other people with the same issue.
I will never buy a Fitbit again.

I bought 3 of these a couple monrhs back and they have done norhing but glitch and jam. Have had the store I bought from replaced two of them only to have them do the same. And on top of that my original one I bought when 4 came out is now glitching as well. Update problem? I will be changing to a more reliable brand

Sounds about right and seemingly carried over to the Charge 5 and possibly other devices.

Sigh, here I am, one month later, back to report continued glitching and the latest: a complete crash of the device so it won't even restart normally. On my way again to "customer support" so maybe this time they be so good to bother to "check warranty status". They refused to do this a month ago, and instead advised me to clear user data. I had to set up all my preferences again and the device functioned properly for about a week. Here we go again.

Yea, my charge 4 has the same issues. The amount of times I have to manually restart to get it to do even the most basic things (like swipe to the next screen), let alone the fitness functions, is completely ridiculous. I’m never buying or recommending a Fitbit product again! So unreliable.
