My Charge 4 doesn't do anything anymore. I've restarted it with the cable (don't know if thats the right word), and a smiley appeared, but it din't start working. I also selected 'clocks' on my mobile phone but the screen stays black. It doesn's synchronize with my mobile anymore and it looks as if the button on the lelft side of the fitbit is stuck inside, so it can't be pushed anymore.
Anyone any idea what is going on and how to solve this problem?

Look closely at the side button. Do you see any dirt or debris? Try taking a straight pin and very carefully try to clan around the button gently. Try pushing the button several times then repeat trying to gently clean it again. I’ve read where individuals have used compressed air in a can (used at about an arms length away) to try and clean out a stuck button as well. Hopefully all that’s wrong is it needs a bit of TLC

Just adding to the tip form MegaBite . You could try using a clean, dry q-tip to clean the button of your Charge 4.

I experienced exactly the same hee today. Had some not-normal battery usage the last 24 hours and tody it suddely died. Same feeling on the left button. Very strange!

I am facing the same problem.
It seems a lot many people are in the same boat.
Fitbit does not seem to have a solution.
We need to escalate the issue as I don't believe anyone has been helped satisfactorily.

Same problem here today. It is syncing with my phone and I see the green light on the back flashing but the Fitbit screen is black and nothing happens when I squeeze the sides. Unfortunately this is the third Fitbit to which this has happened. First one was less than a year and they replaced it. However the same thing happened with the replacement and they wouldn’t replace that. I broke down and bought a new one and now the same thing. I have had it just over a year. Done with Fitbit. Time for an Apple Watch!!!

Mine is also not synchronizing. I think I also change to another one, like Apple. Or Samsung.. I liked my Fitbit, but this is no good.

Fitbit Support has been of no use to me, either! I have a 3 month old warranty replacement (clasps broke on my old one) and now all I have is a black screen. I have contacted support, twice, and basically they are offering me 35% off a new one. I can't even factory reset the new one because the screen doesn't work and all the do is shrug their shoulders and tell me to 'dispose of my unit in an environmentally proper way. I would love to shove it up their environmentally ***! I am so done with this company!

Juan, we have all contacted 'the Team' with no satisfactory resolutions. So I do not see what good that would do. Fitbit does not stand behind their product otherwise all these issues would be fixed. It all comes down to the might $

Same issues here. Conveniently post warranty expiring. Customer service has been of no help and instead offering a 35% discount code - but what guarantees are there that this won't happen with the new band post warranty. Definitely faulty technology and they should be doing a recall and offering new bands to those affected. I was very pleased with my Fitbit but the longevity of this product is very disappointing and I will not be buying a new band as it is a waste of money.

sigh… exact same thing here. i was just thinking how this fitbit was been pretty great (except for some recent dim screen issues- unrelated?) maybe user error with do not disturb mode- but this is my 5th fitbit in 6 years so i usually feel i have working knowledge of my device.
have cleaned it entirely with clean/dry qtip, let it charge overnight. got that smiley face when i connected charger at first, now nothing. app cannot find or sync device. very frustrating.
has anyone had a resolution to this problem from fitbit? my warranty expired last month (bc a similar issue happened last year to prior fitbit). very disappointed but guess i’m going to go check out apple watches.

I am having the same issue! Saw the Smiley face twice when I plugged it in, but now it is black. The green light on the back is flashing. Would like to resolve this. Any thoughts?

Here's one thing that I don't believe has been mentioned. In case any of yours do not seem to be charging, the pins on the back can get gummed up or coated with soap residue. Try wiping those pins, and I occasionally wipe the charger pins too, with a rag dipped in alcohol. That's the limit of my Fitbit skills
