Hi guys,
I accidentally started a run exercise on my Fitbit Charge 4 and couldn't figure out how to end it. I researched it and apparently, you just press the side button. I followed the instructions and nothing happened. No matter how many times I pressed or held the side button it did not work. I remembered that it had never actually worked for me, but before I just assumed I was doing it wrong. Now, I can't even exit the exercise or restart the Fitbit to try and fix the problem.

I have this same issues since I got this 4 days ago. The buttons do not work/respond at all. Battery does not hold its charge. Drains in 3/4 of the days even with all the app that can be uninstalled. I have to constantly change the clock face to get back to the home screen.
Please advise on how to return/exchange this, I do not want this Charge4...

My button is not working. Also, my sleep score isn't working. Also the estimated o2 variation isn't working.

I have the same issue the Home button doesn't respond. We have tried Restarting and resetting the Fitbit charge4 but to no avail. How do we get this replaced by fitbit or have it fixed?

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @KatieM1984.
Thank you for sharing your inquiry about the Charge 4.
Keep in mind that instead of using a traditional button as can be found on other Fitbit's, the Charge 4 uses an inductive button on the left side. This means that the Charge 4 registers a “press” when you close the electric circuit with your finger (so you just need to press on that area using your finger, which also allows you to go back when navigating the interface). Let me know if you have other questions.
I hope this helps, I'll be around.

I've got this issue as well. I got the Charge 4 yesterday and everytime I go into an app, I can't return to the home screen. The 'button' doesn't seem to do anything. I have to install a different clock in order to get back to the homescreen. I have a feeling that this will be returned.

@Gary2B2G Thank you for your reply and for confirming that you're experiencing the same inconvenience with your Charge 4.
Before considering other options, please make sure that you've tried the steps listed here previously to properly interact with the inductive button of your device. You can also try restarting your device following these steps (pressing the button on the charging cable).
If you're still having the same problem, I recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. They will let you know how to proceed.

I haven't found on this page a solution for the problem, which worked for my tracker. Can you please advice on how to deal with the button malfunction problem?

I also have the same problem. Support wasn’t helpful as after I explained all that I’ve tried they just said it’s out of the warranty period.
