My Charge 4 is unresponsive. I followed a YouTube video, the smiley face appears but then disappears. There is a long vibration from the device once I press the start button while it is in the charger. Perplexed???

Hello there, @gordduro. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 4 before reaching out. 

To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.
