Hello @Cindyosphr. Welcome to the community forums!
Thank you for the information. I'd like to let you know that your Charge 4 device recognizes activities at least 15 minutes long.. If your activity isn't still being tracked, please try to change or adjust the time for your workout and make sure that the option "Auto-recognize on the Fitbit App is set to "Active".
If your auto exercises aren't being tracked, I recommend performing a restart to your tracker. Also, for more information, I recommend visiting the following link: How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?
In addition, you can use the Exercise App on your Charge 4 to start and stop your swim workout. For more details, please check:
How do I track my swims with my Fitbit device?
On a side note, I've moved this post to the Charge 4 board to keep our forums organized.
Hope this helps.

@Cindyosphr Thank you for your reply.
Sorry for the experience and I appreciate your help in following the suggested tips. In this case, please test your Fitbit device to see if it tracks your Swimming.
On a side note, in case you would like to receive live assistance, you can contact our Support Team through chat or over the phone, but phone wait times are longer than normal, so I recommend initiating a chat. Click here to get connected.
See you around.

I don't know if this thread is still open, but my charge 4 also is not auto recognizing my swimming, and when I set it manually it stops recording my heart rate?

I contacted Fitbit via chat and they resolved the issue with my fitbit not auto recognizing my swims. After following all the steps, it auto recognized my swim the next day.
