How do I link the Charge 4 to my child's account? It only gives options for kids watches and he wanted the Charge 4.

Hi @Brittany_H due to laws across the world, children are prohibited from having an online account and using these devices. The Ace series was made especially to allow children six and up to use these services. Fitbit is abiding by those laws. Lying about the age is the only solution, but would create a problem since the algorithms are made based on gender, age, height and weight. So that would give completely wrong data for your child. Lying about the age is the only workaround if you're not using the Ace.

Welcome to the Community, @Brittany_H and @Odyssey13, thanks for the input.
As our friend here mentioned, Fitbit Ace and Fitbit Ace 2 are the only trackers that can be connected to a Fitbit child account. For more information about this, I recommend checking the help article: How do I get started with Fitbit kids devices?.
Children without a Fitbit device may use MobileTrack in the Fitbit app to track their steps. Note that you must create a child account in the app before setting up MobileTrack. For more information on MobileTrack, check the article: How do I use Fitbit MobileTrack?.
Let me know if you need anything else.

This is nonsense, though. Why are kids restricted to kids devices? Mine loves the Charge 4, too, and we can't connect it. Very silly.

It shouldn't need to have to do with the account. There is a "kids account" in the fitbit account, why can't ANY device be connected to the kids account?

Hi @uliu due to international and US laws, children are more carefully monitored using any online service, including Fitbit devices. The Ace series was made so younger children (under 13 in the US and 16 in some European countries) could enjoy using a Fitbit under parental guidance. Fitbit is merely complying with the law.

The unfortunate thing is that my daughter lost her Ace. I have an old Charge 4 sitting in a drawer that I'd love to give her.
