Charge 4 won't sync

well this would have to be one of the worse purchases i have ever made. I received this Fitbit 4 tracker for fathers day and so far on and off for a week i have not been able to get it past the device found section of app. The tracker has a smiley face without the battery icon around it, then goes to the Fitbit logo with web address. The app finds the device with a big tick but will not connect. Samsung SM-G960F Android Version 10. Android security patch level 1/07/20.one UI version 2.1.

I have read the posts i have seen the same 17 minute video several times from different forums. I would like to take it back and get my $200 back. This is the biggest waste of time, this is the worse technological piece of equipment i have ever seen. To go one step further where the Fitbit organization uses a community based technical support to fix issues, or twitter platform. Where is a simple email address? So screenshots can be sent? A phone number (although this probably wouldn't work as it would always be busy with the amount of calls) Is this because the technical staff does not know how to fix their own product? Which does not instill a lot of confidence in any product they make. Of course i am expecting the usual turn off your phone and restart. Restart the charge 4 device while on charge. Turn off your Bluetooth, look at the forum posts because it will not be the Charge 4 that is faulty.

I am sure everyone with a Charge 4 device is getting sick of hearing the same old excuses. The end result is your device does not work. Our phones pair with our other devices, Bluetooth headsets, other technologies without having to turn off phones. I am unsure what would be more frustrating, having it work then to unpair itself, or my problem where it just doesn't work at all. I cannot believe that with modern technology we still have to have this discussion. I am sure if the Fitbit personnel had a vehicle which wouldn't start or had a technical issue the manufacture couldn't fix and the manufacture sent them to community based forum to get it fixed they would be heading to media outlets outraged.

I don't expect a fix anytime soon looking at all the other posts considering there is about 2000+ of them and i haven't seen a lot of positive outcomes. The outcomes of it working seem to be lucky hits and nothing that can be confirmed, but i am seeing so many more failures or unresolved issues to the point where i think a lot of people are either getting their money back if they can or simply putting it in a draw and living with the loss of money.

Thank you for the contact information.

But did you actually read my post or just skim over the top.

The last section about syncing.... i can't even get the pin code out of the tracking device to even put the thing on my wrist to wear it. Without worrying whether or not the stupid thing will sync. Let's get one problem fixed at a time. I cannot believe you tried to send me back to a site telling me to turn off phones, bluetooth etc when i had already mentioned i have done all these things...... stop wasting everyone's time..

Disregard the best answer thing, my finger brushed past and apparently i can't find the undo button... i hate forums....

I have had a bit more of a look around your forum,  i have noticed the distinct lack of other useful buttons. Like was this message not helpful, or maybe a button for not the most helpful answer ever? I notice there is no undo button for any button you might accidently press either. I am sure we have all done that at some point  But i am guessing that would upset your data results when you are looking at it...I would have kept with my Samsung gear fit as it worked brilliantly and still does. It was the hardware that failed it. I am a bit rough with the work i do and i got the band caught putting my hand down a hole. Broke the band and mounting point. So i thought in what turns out not such good wisdom to change. Wow what an idiot i was. I had a device that worked flawlessly and purchased something i cannot even use. Go me, is there a button on here that says biggest idiot?

I am having the similar problem.. device will not stay paired with iphone... have to repeatedly mess with deleting the app, turning on and off the phone, restarting the Charge 4...   etc   sometimes it will sync and then it stops connecting again..        I wish I hadn't purchased this device--   i've read thru these answers and nothing seems to be a permanent fix... aaargh

Wow, i started a chat with Roma. It seems i may have taken too long to write down the phone model and type to aid her with the problem i was experiencing. As a result of this they closed the chat. You can imagine how annoyed i was at this and i can assure you if they had an option of half a star or no star that is what they would have got. So to summarize. I have a device (as we all do) that does not work at all. (For others it works sometimes.) It doesn't seem to matter what platform or device we are using to pair it to they are under the impression it is our devices that are faulty not fitbit. They do not know how to fix any of it. Which is why they are hoping some tech genius will come up with a solution in this forum to fix it for them. Another thing i have seen is that they do not listen or read what is in front of them. They have reassigned my subject to a syncing issue not a startup issue. I do feel for all of the people experiencing similar issues. I think if you cannot get your money back you are in for a long pain of hurt with this. I don't think they will ever come up with a solution. There might be an update to make it better for 90% of devices but i think to fix them all is going to be asking way too much from fitbit organization.

As i mentioned earlier, i am not on twitter, don't like facebook so therefore rarely use it and i type too slow to use the chat function. So until monday when their phone line opens i am done for the weekend on trying to fix this. I will approach the retailer to see if i can get my money back. I wonder where i can send my bill for the time i have wasted on this. I might need to do this to recuperate some of the money i might lose if i can't return the device.. good luck everyone.

After spending 45 minutes in an online chat, Fitbit's position is that my phone, which worked just fine for the last 4 months, is now incompatible with my Charge 4. Pretty sure it's not worth the time and effort to keep trying to correct the problem.

This is always their answer when they don't know how to fix the connections problems....

I have the same problem with my Motorola phone. It worked well but suddenly doesn't work anymore.....
