I do not know if my Charge 4 is still under warranty. It was shipped Jan 2021. But the connection for the wrist strap just broke off without any known stress. Is there any way to repair this? I tried super gluing it back on but obviously did not get is back together well because the band will not stay connected.

Same. This is a known issue for the Charge 4s and they won't do anything to help customers.

It’s too bad Fitbit can’t make a quality product they can stand behind. When I spend $150 on an item I expect it to last for a while. My band broke off after 14 months. That part clearly needs to be metal, not plastic.
I’m thinking about Garmin too. I’ve had a Fitbit for at least 7 years. This one lasted 14 months.

My charge4 band connection also broke off after using it for a little over a year. The connectors in Charge4 were plastic and bad design. Is Fitbit going to do the honorable thing and send a replacement out of warranty or am I SOL! Seems like a known and documented problem. Thanks.

From what I've seen thus far all they have offered after a year was a small discount on another Fitbit product. I tried another brand and didn't love it. Picked up a Fitbit versa from Costco for $149 CAD and was happy to see it has a different strap attachment with a pin which should be better.

I ended up getting a Charge 5 at Costco, they completely re-designed the band. The Costco bundle gets you two different bands which I also liked. And at least Costco stands behind the products they sell. Correct, FITBIT offers 35% discount but not off all the trackers, and not on any that I wanted. I hope you love your new purchase!
I hope my new Charge 5 from Costco lasts longer than 14 months.
I guess they do not care about the customers who are loyal to them and wear their Fitbit often. I noticed that the directions now say to take it off from time to time. I love using mine to track my sleep.

I have an option to get a new Charge 4 Replacement for free or get 50% of another watch, and I am considering Charge 5. Another post said the Charge 5 has the same problem, but you say the bad design was corrected. Is this correct?
Ok thanks!!!

Same here. My wife has now had three fitbits break in that same way - the plastic bits on the case that allow the band to affix to the watch unit and I have had two break that way and one that failed due to a fading display. None were under warranty. Once I got $50 credit on the purchase of a new one. No more. Kind of tired of paying ~$100 per year for a fitbit. Now going to try one of these I think https://us.amazfit.com/products/amazfit-gts-4-mini .
My last one was purchased late Aug.2021 and broke today 12/2/2022 so life of 15 months. Sounds like what a lot of other have experienced. So we have multiple fitbits that COULD still function if they could fit inside of a differently designed band.
From a companies standpoint, it's a nearly perfectly designed product in that it fails just past warranty necessitating a new one or a change. I don't really want to change but then again, how can I look at myself in the mirror AND buy yet another one.

I am on my second fitbit Fourth because of other issues) for the same reason, previously I have had to get new straps. I think by now I am out of warranty. This is pathetic. I am now researching a more reliable product, if anyone has any advice, I would be glad to hear it. I definitely won't be buying fitbit again.

I think you are lucky to be getting a replacement.

Fitbit did eventually replace my Charge 4, but the band on the replacement unit failed last week. Since it is no longer under warranty, I tried the super glue again. It is working great. So if you cannot repair your band connection, I suggest cleaning it well and applying super glue.

I have the same problem the clip on the watch head broke after I replace the band twice for a different issue.

It's the screws in the mechanism. They get corroded and break off. A really bad design flaw for a product that is supposed to be water-resistant.
