Charge HR 2 cannot update tracker software

I bought a new in box Charge HR2. I have the latest app on the phone. After pairing the watch to my phone, the app says there is an update for the track software. I click on that, agree to the wall of text. It then states "Searching for your Fitbit Charge 2". Then it states "Connecting to your Fitbit Charge 2". I then get a notification that the update is complete. It then states "Not Working?" with some steps to take. The update tracker software notification never goes away and during the so called update the fitbit stays silent. I've done this before and the fitbit is supposed to show that it is updating software, which never happens.

@PierreBoudreaux   I don't have a solid answer for you, just an observation.  I browse many forums and I have seen similar posts from users trying to update new in the box trackers released from that same time -- the Charge 2 was released in 2016.  I have seen similar posts from users setting up Blaze and Alta HR models.  All of these models have been discontinued since about 2018.  All users say they get an update notice, but it won't update.  I think Fitbit removed the updates for these older models.  I wish I could confirm this for you.  I asked Fitbit, but never got an answer.

Same for my charge 2 . wanted to update it from 22.22 to the newest Version but it keeps failing . 

any chance to ping fitbit on that matter ?
