My Fitbit Charge 2 records way more steps than I actually take. In a 2-mile walk, it tells me I have taken about 17,000 steps. I have paced off 100 step increments and it registers more steps than I count. How can I calibrate it to be more accurate?

When you paced off 100 steps, how many steps did it register? I know you said more than 100, but give an idea how much off it was.

I just wondered. That difference does not seem enough to explain 17,000 steps for 2 miles unless you have really tiny steps.

The first thing I would try is a restart.
If that doesn't help, you could try adjusting your stride length, though that doesn't sound to me like your issue.
See Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?
