Just received charger2 and it began at 0 steps. Walked maybe 10 steps and it registered 210.  Obviously not correct.  What am I missing???

You can always try a restart.

But were you doing other things with your hands?  Fitbit detects steps by the normal swinging of the arms while walking.  It tried to tell the difference between that and other wrist movements, but is not always totally accurate.  Most people find the error is not significant over the course of a full day.

Activities that are most likely to cause these errors are regular repeated motions, such as knitting, patting as dog, brushing hair, etc.

Makes sense!  I’m a new user and will probably have many start up questions.  Thanks

Have you tried turning your fitbit on and off. I had to reset mine a few times over the year but it is generally accurate!

Thank you! I finally was able to adjust stride and it seems better but still high. I will reset periodically and see if that helps as well Thanks for the suggestion.

I have also noticed that clapping (like after a performance) tends to count as steps.
