I assume we are talking about the step total as shown on the friends tile. If so, this tile shows the steps taken so far today plus the steps for the previous 6 days. Once you have logged at least a week of data the total will always go down at midnight as it deletes the oldest day's data to make room for the new day.
Would this account for what you are seeing?
Best AnswerI have the same problem. I have only had my firbit for 3 days as the 2nd day it reset to 0 but today it has carried on from yesterday, should it reset or carry on for the first week?

@SpecialK1986 I'm not sure that is the same problem. The stats on your fitbit should all reset to zero at midnight each night. Occasionally, this reset does not work and the counts keep going meaning that your stats for the new day are wrong. Restarting the fitbit should help ensure the reset works at the next midnight but there's nothing that can be done about the incorrect data. The restart instructions are at: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186/

Is it always exactly 62000 or just around that number? I ask because your average daily step is 10000 and when the total resets it has just 6 days of data - which is around 60000 - so it sounds about right.
Are you able to check your daily totals and see if the calculation works?
