Custom Foods Don't Work

Since Google took over I can no longer use any of my custom foods.  I get a "Can't connect to Fitbit" error message.  I thought I needed to have my location on, but that doesn't seem to matter.

Speaking of location...I used to be able to see my data with a simple Wi-Fi connection.  Now I feel like if I want to do anything on the app I have to turn on my location.  Highly annoying.  I don't usually keep my location on unless I am traveling.

Hi @dnax. Welcome to the community forums. 

Thank you for reaching out and letting me know about this situation. 

Before anything else, please make sure the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version. Once that is done, I'd recommend to try the following steps:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and log back in.
  4. Then, scroll down and tap on the food tile.
  5. Try adding a custom food one more time.
