Differences between tracking walks on Fitbit app vs Tracker

I have a Charge 2 and the Fitbit app on my Google Pixel. I've been having trouble with tracking my walks for about a week now. Originally I tracked my walk from within the app but lately I've started my walks on the actual tracker (Charge 2) itself. I like using the Fitbit tracker because it tracks my heart rate (sometimes) and it's very helpful with keeping within my heart zones. However, the mileage seems to be off and I've been a little frustrated. Today I tested it by using both the app and the Fitbit and there were some major differences. My phone tracked me going .30 miles more than my tracker and I'm not sure which one is right or if my Charge 2 is finally starting to break since it has been 4 years. Any help would be appreciated. Out of both of the walks it recorded the one from my tracker that said I walked less and had a slower pace.
