I am using a Fitbit Charge 2 for GPS tracking of my running activities. Why Fitbit is showing around 10% extra distance? I have tested it many time for known distances 5km and 10km. Fitbit Charge 2 records close to 5.5km and nearly 11km. In one occasion it recorded 11.4km for 10km race. This gives a wrong impression of the pace when actually running slower than it shows. Not good for practice sessions.
That would be true if the Charge 2 used gps to measure distance, users have confirmed that it does not!
Best AnswerThat is incorrect. When running with GPS connected, it uses GPS calculated distance.
To prove that I tried manually putting half my stride length. No it does not take manual stride length when GPS is connected.
