Distance accuracy concern with Charge 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 2 records low distances (at least .5 km off).

Went for a walk today - my map showed 4.25 km, my fitbit showed 3.4 km - that's almost a whole kilometre off..!! (and when I google mapped it, the distance is 4.1 km)
is there anyway to fix the inaccuracy..?

Hi @maxinepeltier, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which mobile device are you using? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, please restart your Charge 2 and check: How does my Fitbit device calculate distance traveled?

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hello…!!

I am using an Iphone XR. It happens every time I use it. I was actually not using my phone initially (just my fitbit because I did not know about the map option on my fitbit phone app). I noticed one day that my distance was different than my husband (who was using his GPS – Map my Walk). I then found out that I could be using the ‘map’ option on my fitbit app on my phone, so started using it. It was generally about .5/km off, so I did a restart and the discrepancy has been worse (almost a whole km on some distances). Today, during my walk – my fitbit logged 5.39 kms and my phone app logged 6.18 kms. We have google mapped our walks a few times just to double check accuracy and my phone app is usually similar to the google map.

Thanks for your reply…!

Hope you can help me fix it..!

Maxine
