Distance calculation incorrect

I use a manually entered stride length of 31.4 inches but with 4694 steps it shows a distance of 3.15 miles which I think would be more like a 42.5 inch stride.  With a 31.4 inch stride length, it should be showing a distance of 2.33 miles for the 4694 steps.

Did you manually adjust the stride length for both walking and running? I'm wondering if your stepping was fast enough that it thought you were running and used the larger stride length.
