On the Charge 3 can a distance be recorded without being connect to ones smart phone app ?

Obviously not connected to phone's GPS, it calculates distance as number of steps times stride length.  It is not necessary to have phone nearby; data will get transferred at next sync.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
