Can the Fitbit tech team add a drive ‘exercise’ to the charge 3. I use roads that are bumpy enough that to register 2000 steps and 20 floors in 5km!
Adding the ‘exercise’ retrospectively using the app is haphazard, inaccurate and inconvenient.
PS Hope I’m not asking too much but is there a way to prioritize the exercises on the charge 3? I run, horse ride and drive far more than I swim 😉.
Oh! And by the way Fitbit tech team, could you make the horseback riding program not recognize steps or floors😉. Someone suggested using the bike option, which I can, so why have an inaccurate horse ride exercise option at all? Generally find the Charge 3 great and am getting fitter all the time 🎉.

Hey @AmandainSilvan, a warm welcome to the Community.
I know that it would be great to have an option to avoid false information from your tracker. Please take a look at the Add "Driving Mode" Feature to avoid erroneous steps/floors request, vote for it and leave your comment.
Keep the stepping up!

Thanks Alejandra, hope I’ve voted for it. Seems people have been wanting this since 2014 so hopefully Fitbit can make it happen!

That request is open since 2014 and there is no acknowledgement of the issue from Fitbit , the moderators appear to be surprised everytime someone complains, I've seen several I'll pass this onto the developers, several bumpy road and stiff transmission, some utterly ridiculous workarounds, but no concrete fix's. The fact is that this fitness tracker can't count steps accurately and untill it does it's a watch and a timer and that's pretty much it.

Great to see you here @MMFitz.
I appreciate the feedback regarding this feature. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.
I will see you around.

My fitbit logged 15k steps on my 7 hour drive (really I only got about 3k for that day) and it did it for other long drives too. I find it to be super frustrating. I tried to go log "driving" as an activity after the fact but it didn't change anything.
I almost feel like recharging my hr3 and trashing my wasted money on this hr3 because I think i'm doing great but oh hey... 4k steps from a drive to the store and back doesn't actually help me when I didn't do it! I'm actually mad at my husband for buying me this as a birthday gift. Maybe i'll just go get a regular pedometer. I really thought the 3 was gonna be way better.

Yeh I agree, please Fitbit add a drive mode of some sort as this would solve a world of issues.

Nowadays I just tell my friends if you drive regularly don’t buy Fitbit. The extra step counts are too many for you to get value out of Fitbit

From the fitbit website: “Fitbit devices use a 3-axis accelerometer to count your steps.”
I have a couple of pedometers that use that exact same technology. They do NOT, EVER, count steps when I’m in a vehicle, on rural gravel roads or highway or city roads.
There should not have to be a ‘driving’ ‘exercise’ to compensate for those unnecessary additional ‘steps’ taken while in a moving vehicle. Which leads me to believe that the fitbit trackers really aren’t using this Tri-Axis technology.

Can anyone help to decide which charge I should purchase for all purposes?

At the very least they could add a simple option of DRIVE MODE to click on and off. I saw another brand has this feature-basically you click STOP TRACKING or something like that....simple!
