1. Have you turned down the brightness of the screen? I accidentally did that once and I had to go to a completely dark room to see it and go to settings to change it back!
2. If the screen is completely black: Do a restart. Connect the charger. Hold down the button for 8 seconds until you see the smiley face. That should do it!

I will never recommend a Charge to anyone. I have had many issues! And they aren't resolved! The face is not illuminated today! This is just so ridiculous. It's not a good ad for fitbit!

Have you found a way to solve this issue?

I have the same problem. My Charge 4 was fine until the last update. Anyone had a response? I will raise a support case.

Did go to dark closet and was so faint. Changed settings but face still not properly lit. Changed face to bigger display. Did a restart. Illumination still faint.

Hopefully this replies to the thread but Fitbit have been excellent. My unit seemed perfectly fine until the last update. Since then the screen has got progressively worse to see so that now it is unreadable. I got in contact with the Fitbit chat support and they have offered to replace it. I have been emailed with the order and everything. They did ask me to reset and sync while we were chatting but that was it, took about 10 minutes. Nice one.

How did you get a hold of them. The link I followed took me to twitter? I sent them a message.
