Fat Burn not equal to active?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Im new to working out, I do HIIT workouts throughout the week, my heart rate will show I have 48 minutes in Fat Burn Zone but only 10 for active minutes. It made me feel a bit discouraged before I was able to find the heart rate zone area. I thought I wasnt working as hard as I felt I was. Is there a reason for this or way to change it? Maybe even have it show up on my actual tracker if thats available?

Where are you seeing the 10 Active Minutes?

I see it on both my watch and the app homescreen, it has a lightning bolt symbol and is by my steps, heart rate, distance, etc.

My mistake.  Charge 3 does give Active Minutes; I was thinking you should be seeing Zone Minutes.

"Active Minutes" require at least 10 continuous activity of certain intensity.  You apparently reached that level but usually not for 10 consecutive minutes.  In later models the measurement has been changed to "Zone Minutes" instead of "Active Minutes", and dropping the 10 consecutive minute requirement, in accordance with a change in the CDC exercise recommendations.

You can read about the differences here:  What are Active Zone Minutes or active minutes on my Fitbit device?

In addition to changing from Active to Zone minutes, the calculation of the heart rate zones also changes, most people finding it harder to reach the newer zones, though able to get credit for shorter times in zone.
