I don't know where to start with this. I am very concerned about all the folks who have the charge 2 that recently, within the last few months, are having issues with charging and syncing. I first noticed that my charge 2 was not syncing when I was no longer getting my weekly fitbit reports and my battery had to be charged up almost every other day. I checked fitbit forums and realized there were many other folks suffering from the same issue with similar symptoms and results. I called fitbit support and got the standard run around which I had already done. I had some forum posts removed that stated the results of which, which I will edit and repost and they should not be removed again.
Anyway, in the meantime, I had decided to go to another product and went to purchase it at a local Walmart. Walmart had one available but they said they could not sell it to me, wow, totally blew my mind. So on the way home, I decided I would try some different things. My Wife and I have the exact same phones so it was impossible to see if it would sync on them. We tried this with the support and it did not work. Then I found out that the Amazon Fire tablet will let me download the fitbit app and so I tried to sync it to the tablet, still the same results as before. The tablet would recognize the fitbit device, give me a pairing number, and then would just not connect. Now comes the important part and I will use all caps to emphasize what I did and the results it brought about.
OUT OF MY FRUSTRATION I PICKED UP THE CRADLE WITH THE DEVICE AND TAPPED IT AGAINST MY DESK.
That's it, it immediately connected with my tablet. Wow. So I then reset my device and paired it with my Samsung J7 Perx and it connected. As of this moment, almost a full day later it is working like a charm and the battery power is not being drawn down. I looked at teardown videos of this device and everything is very tight and compact within the casing of the device. It's very possible that something came slight ajar. To me it's a miracle, first the device I went to pick up was available but could not be sold, secondly that an action out of frustration solved my issue for the moment.
I am still concerned for others with this same exact problem, try tapping the device on a table top or desk top while in the cradle as it is trying to connect, it might just work.

@BirdmanBlue Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well!
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback regarding your Charge 2. While usually I don't suggest that you hit or knock your device against the desk I still thank you for letting us know that this worked for you. I hope that you are already back on track getting all those steps on your account.
Let me know how it goes.

Normally I wouldn't tap my fitbit cradle on my desk to fix a problem. Having a degree in Electronics Engineering and working on many electronic items over the years has taught me many things about how things work. Believe me it's not the first time I have tapped something to get it to respond. My major problem is that I never should have had to go to that extreme to get it to work. I still see a whole lot of folks with this issue and the steps given look to only solve the issue in about 10 to 20 percent of application. I know electronics are susceptible to many variances, especially when applying it on a wrist and using it during various motions, and the design of the product looks fairly well, so there always has to be a consideration that the product itself may not provide the life cycle that most would expect for an item that runs in the 130 dollar range. The tap worked because of a loose element within the device and it probably won't be a forever fix, but for the moment it kept me from purchasing the samsung fitness device I was going to buy. Have a nice day.
