Hi, I've browsed a few of the existing threads and followed the instructions when remedying a Charge 2 that won't update. However, I've had a number of general connectivity issues with my new Samsung Galaxy A20. It pairs and syncs fine. Text and messenger notifications do not show, and when attempting a firmware update the fitbit freezes and displays  a "!" Over the update graphic. Plz help because I love my fitbit!!!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not syncing nor updating and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. For syncing please try the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

And follow these instructions for the firmware update.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for your reply! I followed all the instructions you gave. I had to update my Charge 2 firmware via my iPhone 5S as none of the solutions worked for my Galaxy A20.

However I am still not receiving text or messenger notifications on my Charge 2. Please offer a solution.

Thanks again!
