My device isn't showing my steps on screen and when I tap the screen nothing happens.

Upon upgrade some Charge 3 bands were set to the "do not disturb" mode.  You might want to check that setting.  Try pushing the indent on the left side, rather than tapping, to bring it back to life.  If that works then check the DND setting.
