The FitBit synchronization software appears to be one of the most poorly written utilities I have experienced in multiple decades of working within the software industry.
In order to "try" to establish a connection between my Dell lap top and my FitBit Charge II here are the steps I go through (which only sometimes lead to success):
1). Restart the FitBit II by plugging it into the USB connector to the computer and depressing the button for 10 seconds to restart the FitBit;
2). Restart the FitBit application on the computer;
3). Restart the computer;
4). Repeat.
Results are sporadic at best - sometimes it connects and can synchronize and other times it will not regardless of what I do.
I don't understand how a company can produce a product that can so consistently fail and expect people to continue to do business with that company. Surely the quality assurance team (if the company actually invests in such things) could have found these rudimentary connectivity issues such that they could have been addressed prior to the release of the product.
Steve.

Interesting response from the FitBit group - nothing!
My daughter asked me about a FitBit Versa 2 purchase today - I told her to avoid it unless she wanted to deal with synchronization challenges on a regular basis. She is now off to buy an Apple Series 5!
Maybe they will offer a FitBit trade in program for us unsatisfied FitBit users...... I am sure I am not the only one with these issues....
