Hello. My Fitbit charge 2 is counting thousands of steps that I am not taking. Any movement in my arm with the watch is counted as steps. How do I fix this? I am right handed and I am wearing the watch on my left hand.
Thank you in advance for your help.

As explained in the following help file, some extra steps can be tracked when the fitbit misinterprets random arm movement as steps. This is common for any wrist-worn tracker. However, getting thousands of extra steps is not normal.

There's not really a lot we can do about this but, as it says in that help file, if you use the dominant wrist setting but wear it on your non-dominant wrist then it should minimise the problem.

I had that problem as well. I sit most of the day for my job and move my arms quite a bit. I ordered a band extender from amazon and now wear it on my ankle so when it says 12000 steps a day I KNOW there is actually 12000 steps and not any arm movements counted in. I can't use any of the other functions since it is on my ankle and I can't see it, but I only want to use it for steps anyway so that doesn't bother me.
