Fitbit Charge 2 floors accuracy

I have just received a Ferris Wheel badge for climbing 75 floors! Only, I didn't. This has happened, I suspect because of the pressure fluctuations caused by Storm Eunice. I have actually climbed 11 floors but it is interesting to see that the count has gone up by 5 or 6 floors most times I check the Tracker. Since receiving the badge floor count has gone up to 80 and I haven't moved from my desk.

Hello @SunsetRunner and welcome to the Community.  This is a known side effect of how the altimeter works.  It senses changes in barometric pressure.  So a very gusty storm, like Storm Eunice will trigger floors.  I also get them when I go through the fire doors in my building.  Fitbit doesn't use the number of floors for any kind of calorie burn or anything like that.  I would just ignore it.  It's possible that someone at Support can remove it.  I just don't think it's worth the effort.

Thanks. I thought it was more amusing than a problem. I agree it's not worth the effort to change it.

Good to have confirmation that it's not used in calorie burn calculation, thanks! I shall hope for a new badge then 😉
