Fitbit Charge 2 won't sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 2 has been working fine and last synced at 5:19 am 9/8/23 now won't sync and shows red exclamation point. Tried tuning off Bluetooth, restarting phone waiting...then tuning on Bluetooth. Reinstalled the app and now they want to track me all the time. In past was set to only track when using app. Set to all the time still wont' work 😞

My Bluetooth heart rate chest strap I use with my Runkeeper app is still working fine so I don't think it is a problem with my phone. It is either the watch or the app changed.

I do have a spare new in the box Charge 3 that I have been saving to use when I break this watch, I guess I can try install it to check the watch. I came here first to see if others charge 2's stopped working this morning.

I'm having the same problem. Charge 2 last successfully sync'ed at 5:35pm today.

I read another post and found the answer that worked for me. It's at this post: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Other-Charge-Trackers/Charge-2-won-t-sync/td-p/1673833

When I checked the Bluetooth app on my phone, there were two Charge 2s listed. I removed them both and then tried to sync again from the FitBit app. It worked right away. Good luck - I hope this solves the problem for you, too.

Fixed it before I read replies. I checked Youtube and did a reset. First I uninstalled it from the app then I hooked to charged and held button for 6 seconds until the logo pops up with a version #. Then I reinstalled it, let the app find it, put in 4 digit code and it worked again. (Maybe just the rest would have fixed it.)

I also went back in my phone and put the location setting back to track only when using the app instead of always and it still worked for now. (fingers crossed) Apparently the issue is it just needs a reset and is not location setting or phone (I think?)

(after fixing it I unhooked it and tried the new Charge 3. I decided to go back my old charge 2 I was used to. The charge 3 has the handy feature to shut it completely off when not using to preserve battery so It will be ready when my charge 2 quits for good)

Good luck and check Youtube. This a common issue with many fix videos.

Thank you, Gary2222 -- I'm glad you got your Charge 2 working again,
too. And thanks for the tip to check out YouTube videos. If I ever have
another problem, I'll be sure to do that.

Thanks again!
