Fitbit Charge 3 Not Tracking Sleep Stages

ANSWERED

I've had the Charge 3 for 4 days, it tracked Sleep for 2 days then stopped.  I tried setting it to Sensitive on my computer and I get an error message "Oops something went wrong" but nothing tells me what or why.  Additionally, it won't swipe left for settings on the unit itself like the instructions and video show.  Is it defective?  I've uninstalled, reset, updated the firmware...what else can I do?

What worked - trust me the charge 3 sucks, while i had it it read one sleep - all the rest no-score. My alta HR works every single **ahem** time.

Why the hell arent they fixing this and marking this as "solved" just before they sold the company is a scam.

Will there be any work at all on this - all this crap with restart this, edit that, delete this, unpair that - its all imaginary solutions and i bet all if you will get no sleep score again as this piece is just inconsistant crap.

This sleep measurement is such key for me i would pay anything for a stable product, no i paid a fairly high price for a piece of crap.

Google please dont ever touch Alta HR firmware and really wish you would fix the charge 3 with a firmware that addresses this issue many have

I am so disgusted with my Charge3. Not only doesn't the sleep tracker work,
but pairing with my Samsung note 10 is never trouble free. Drawing a map
for a run or bike ride had been intermittently working for the past year. A
recent (Google!) android upgrade tanked maps altogether. Tech support's
reboot this, reinstall that, lame excuses seem meant to delay delay until
you give up. Well I have given up on fitbit.
I first borrowed a friend's garmin vivoactive and it worked perfectly.
After too many back and forth emails with fitbit tech support, they finally
tell me that my phone, a flagship samsung model that has been out for six
months, is not compatible!
Then I bought a newer garmin model (Forerunner 35) and it works perfectly.
Out of the box. No lame device rebooting or app reinstallation or hours of
bs with incompetent and/or untruthful tech support.
The 35 does all that I need. Fitbit has wasted more than enough of my time
and energy.
If fitbit wants me to not trash them more publicly, they'll have to buy
back my Charge3. I am not holding my breath.

@Hunch  how is the F35 and sleep tracking ? is it just as detailed and exact as Fitbit ( when it works ) ?

I still have alta HR so for some time i will sleep with both devices - i like the battery life of C3, i like the screen of C3, i like the responsiveness of the screen on the C3, i really want it to work as the Alta HR, but it absolutely isnt and am really dissapointed as im a newcomer to these and went absolutely topfan when i got the Alta HR first day and had expected an upgrade experience on C3 but boy im dissapointed and am really feeling angry here that there is none support whatsoever plus alot of lies floating around about it 'being solved'.

Terrible - Google got like a billion smart developers they must be able to fix the firmware as there is 100% difference between this and the Alta HR ( please dont f.... the Alta up ).

The 35 shows awake, light, and deep stages over time, but no REM. It also
displays movement rates over time, which seems to be how they determine the
stages.

I am so happy to be rid of that **ahem** fitbit!

Delete the log, put in the time you fell asleep and woke up by pressing add sleep log, and then they should appear Bro

My sleep cycle stopped showing the detailed report.  Then I noticed that my heart rate had been switched off on my device.  Probably due to me playing with the settings.  Would this affect my sleep cycle report?

Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphoneI believe  so I gave up on mine and bought a smart watch, went to a Galaxy Active 2  from Verizon.  It  is a bit complicated for me but I  am learning.

I agree. If tracking sleep is a priority and for me, it was.....I, too,
gave it up. Gave it to someone who just wanted to keep up with her heart
rate as she's having some heart issues. Works fine for that.

Hello!

Do you go onto the app on your phone and set the sleep thing when you go to bed? Or do you just leave your charge to recognise it automatically

No I have not done that.  But I  did change my settings from normal to sensitive  and it has not missed a night  since the. I  know others said it didn't work for them . But so far  so good. I have had to edit a couple of times but that also picked up.

I have the same problem.  Fitbit 3 backlight is so dim I can’t see it unless I’m in a dark closet with no light and now sleep tracker is giving me simplified sleep.  I’m beyond frustrated.

I'm glad it was able to help you!  It's the only reason I have kept mine.  There are a few times where that doesn't work, and I just accept no details for a day.
