Thanks for getting back to us and for letting us know that your Charge 3 face won't light.

With this do you mean that the display is not turning on? What is not tracking properly.

The face is completely dark. At all times. The steps tracker part is running very slow so the number of actual steps is off. The heartbeat tracker seems to work but I have to click on that to see what my heart beat was at any particular time of day. It doesn't say what it is in real time.

Thanks for getting back to us and for letting us know what's happening with your Charge 3 @Jan51

Have you tried restarting your tracker in order to resolve all that you mentioned?

See you around.

Followed the instructions to restart. First off, my charging cable has no button to push so that did not work.

Hello @Jan51

You must have read the instructions on how to restart a charge 5. Yours is a Charge 3 so press and hold the button on your Charge 3 for about 8 seconds and release the button when  you see a smile icon and the Charge 3  vibrates, Also you mentioned you have a new phone and your Charge 3 is not tracking properly. Make sure your Charge 3 is still not paired to your old phone as that can cause confusion/conflicts.

The charge 3 screen is is not lighting & cannot sync with my phone…..even several attempts to restart. When I detected the problem, I sought for assistance & requested if I could get sync code on phone or email.

I’ve followed the restating instructions in vain……. since the screen is black the code sent  by Fitbit for syncing cannot be seen. I’m stuck.

Hello again @Jebet

I’m a bit confused about your account. You started the thread with the username @Jan51 and now your using @Jebet. Do you have two different Fitbit accounts? I just want to make sure there’s no confusion with the old Charge HR that you had before. Is it still connected to your account? If the Charge HR is completely gone the only thing I could suggest is trying to set up your Charge 3 as a new device. If that is something you want to try then please follow these instructions very closely. No not miss a step. Put your Charge 3 on its charger for at least 30 mins before proceeding.
First make sure you have the latest Fitbit App version on your phone then log out of the Fitbit App. Now force shut the app by swiping it upward if your using an iPhone or tap the three lines in the bottom left corner of your screen then tap close all if your on Android. Now go to the Bluetooth on your phone and remove Charge 3 from your Bluetooth. If your on an iPhone tap the information icon (it will look like a small i inside a blue circle) then tap Forget Device. If your on an Android tap Charge 3 then tap forget (or unpair)

Now restart your phone and then log back into your Fitbit App, tap your profile picture then scroll down and tap Set Up A Device. Pick Charge 3 in the list of trackers then simply follow the onscreen instructions. When your asked if you want to replace the Charge 3 say yes.
😉Let me know how it goes. Hopefully this will get you up and running. On a side note I looked into your old post and it appears as if you purchased this Charge 3 in 2018. It might be that the Charge 3 has lived it’s lifespan but of course trying to set it up again is worth a shot. No promises

My account is the same as well as my phone. It’s during the process of trying to fix the Fitbit charge 3 that the changes occurred. I will try the above advise.

Thanks for getting back to us @Jan51 and welcome, @Jebet. I'm sorry to hear your Charge 3  is still not turning on.

@Jan51, you can also try a long restart or changing your tracker's clock face

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

@SunsetRunner, @Jan51 and @Jebet are different users. Thank you for your assistance.

@Jebet, please let us know if @SunsetRunner's instructions worked  for you.

I’ve given up on Fitbit. I’ve followed the steps listed in the email in vain. The screen is still dim……nothing is visible. If it had allowed pairing with my phone my steps could still be tracking. That’s why I had requested to pair with my phone to enable me track my steps using the phone. This is not possible because I can’t see the pairing code send to the Fitbit watch due to the black/dim screen.
