Hello @haileywalsh, it's great to have you on board, welcome to the Fitbit Community! Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, at this moment I would like to suggest you to go to your phone's Bluetooth Settings and check if your Charge is on the list of paired devices. If it is, select it and forget/remove form this list. Then, start the update again, your Charge will now be able to finish it and the screen will no longer show the half-filled bar with an exclamation point.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Hello @BrittneyD and @rlsmine, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

@rlsmine, I'm glad to know your issue has now been resolved, thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it.

@haileywalsh, I appreciate you have tried the troubleshooting steps described above, at this moment I would like to suggest you to set up your tracker as a new device to force the update to finish. Don't worry, none of the information previously stored in your account will be deleted.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  2. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  3. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome!

I also tried installing the update and now my Fitbit Charge's screen shows a half complete bar with an ! in the center.  I followed your previous advice and now that I've removed my Fitbit Charge from my list of known devices, it is no longer "findable" on my iPhone.  I even tried to install it on my new Mac and no luck, it can't "find" the device either.  What now??

Same problem here. I hadn't used it in a while because I bought the blaze. Got it out and triend to set it up for my son and I keep getting the same error. If I delete it out of my account and put it back on the charger for a bit the error will go away but every time I try to update it I get the same error.

My Fitbit Charge is stuck at the half loaded update screen and it has been like this for the whole night. I tried plugging it in to the charging cable and pushing the button down for 12 seconds but all it does is just turn the screen off, vibrate, and then the screen turns back on and it is still stuck at the update screen. I also tried checking my Bluetooth, but on the Fitbit app, it doesn't even show that i can update my Fitbit. It is like the app thinks that my Fitbit is all done updating but the update screen is still stuck on the Fitbits screen.

Hello @lexieb122507, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have let me know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. At this moment, if your tracker is still showing the half-filled bar and the app is not showing you an available update, my best recommendation would be setting up your tracker as a new device to force the Charge to finish the process where it got stuck. Don't worry, none of the information already stored in your account will be deleted.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your watch is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your watch and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current watch, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
