Hi, I am setting up a Charge 2 for my senior father. He's does not have a smart phone, etc. They have a Windows 7 Machine. I've installed the Fitbit Dongle and the Fitbit Connect software for windows. When I start the setup process for the Charge 2 (Right after clicking on the Charge 2 pic) the software appears to be thinking and then just disappears/crashes. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong

@SunsetRunner Recent posts in the Charge 2 forum make it sound like Windows 7 is still supported using the steps that you have followed. One of the Moderators has posted recently about using Windows 7.
@MarreFitbitis Windows 7 Still supported using the steps you have described in previous posts? Can you help this user?

I had the exact same problem in January. Set the device aside and picked it back up today to resolve, and the Connect app is still crashing. Deleted Still no answer to this?

Hello guys @a1s2d3 and @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Community! If you want to set up your Charge 2 by using a computer with the Fitbit Connect software, then the main requirement is either using a Mac or a Windows computer with at least 8.1 software as well as Windows 10 computers. I'd like you to take a look at the information in this article where you can find all the requirements and the detailed instructions to setup your Charge 2.
@LZeeW, thanks for your help my friend. 😉
If you have further questions guys, let me know!

Back in 2017 I tried upgrading from a Charge HR to a Charge 2. I saw exactly the same problem. I got to the page that showed the Charge HR and Charge 2. If I clicked on the Charge HR- no problems. If I clicked in the Charge 2- software crashed. After a couple of months of promises that the problem was being addressed, I gave up and bought another Charge HR.
As a further note, there is a 4/15/2018 update of Fitbit Connect. I have installed that and it does not seem to work at all on Windows 7. So even the recourse of sticking with the Charge HR no longer seems to work for me!
