Fitbit app not syncing with Charge 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Really, after I saw thousands of complaints about the app, I can't understand why it is not being fixed. Every time  turn it on, I ahve to restart, turn off, restart the tracker, it doesn't sync, it tells me "device not found", it fails to show any data. This is the app, not anything else.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I refuse to do that every morning! My phone app is the main one I use of course, but this morning even the PC app has no data.

Where are the developers?

@Aravis It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you with your Fitbit app not syncing with your Charge 2 and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. You can try the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

I have done ALL THAT several times. It is now clear that the problem lies with your APP, not with phones or other devices.

The app will not even sync with the tracker on my Windows 10 PC. It synced, partially last night, after I had jumped through hoops to get Windows to recognise it on Bluetooth. This morning it jsut sits there. And there is no sync button on the Windows app to do it manually, for goodness sake!

Thousands of people have complained to you about this app. The developers need to l;isten and act. The app is BROKEN. Frankly, I am considering finding another tracker with better app support.

I am not able to pair (Bluetooth pair) my Charge 2 tracker to my Samsung A8. I keep getting a notification saying "Linking with Fitbit app requires connectivity features" (in large bold letters with a girl in a red shirt point to a phone) followed by "In order to improve your Fitbit experience , you will need to link your tracker and Fitbit application" finally with a red box saying "Okay" I press okay and nothing happens. I have turned my phone on and off multiple times, reset the tracker multiple times and in different orders to see if there is any difference and reinstalled the app twice. I am not able to pair. My blue tooth head phones pair no problem. I have turned the headphones off and removed all bluetooth devices multiple time with just the tracker on beside my phone and still my phone attempts to connect but does not. The pairing attempts just fail. In the app itself I get a red dot with a white explanation mark. It is almost as if the tracker does not have the strength to stay with / not strong enough to send a signal to the phone. All other bluetooth devices work fine. I challenge fitbit to fix this app. I bet I am buying a different brand for Christmas. That is how long fitbit has to convince me this is still a viable product to consider.

I am so fed up of my Fitbit not syncing with my iPhone the only way it’s works if I delete my Fitbit on my app and reset my actual Fitbit each time. This is really frustrating and from the research I have done this is a massive issue that Fitbit need to resolve quickly as everyone is soon going to stop using their Fitbits because I know for one I am truly fed up of mine not working now.

I have been in touch with the CSOs, by way of a review. I insisted that it is the app, not the phone. My Samsung is not supported, but has always been reasonably ok.  After several contacts, the app now seems back to the way it was before the update. How long this will last, I don't know...

I think the real issue is .... If my charge 2 would just hook up with the bluetooth on my phone  then I think I would be good. It is weird because when I remove the device from my profile then "re-add" it, my charge 2 is able to give me the 4 digits in order to add it. So technically info from phone to device appears good but not the other way; device to phone. So whatever the component is in my charge 2 that talks to the bluetooth of my phone is my issue. Conclusion charge 2 component communications to my phone is not working.
