If you are holding hand rail keeping fitbit wrist steady, it probably will not detect steps.

3 choices:

1.  Accept it, knowing it is getting calories correct because they are based on heart rate, not steps.

2.  Putting tracker in a pocket or pinned to clothing will probably give better step count but lose heart rate data for that time.

3.  Hold hand rail only with other hand, letting fitbit arm swing free, getting steps and heart rate.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
