Fitbit not syncing with Strava

So I think there’s something wrong with my strava account or Fitbit account.

So I use it for cycling, and have it connected to my Fitbit.

Normally after I finish a ride, the GPS route/stats/heart rate show up in the Fitbit app right away, then about 5 to 15 mins later I get a strava notification saying “your ride is ready to view”

But for my past two rides, Fitbit has registered my ride (including GPS route) however the activity isn’t showing up on Strava.

I’ve tried the trouble shooting suggestions, I’ve made sure I have the most recent update of both the Strava and Fitbit apps, but the problem persists.

anyone else having this issue?

I have the same issue but only when I use my Charge 2 without my phone. With my phone it syncs just fine. Any help appreciated!

Well your issue is different than mine but that’s simple.

The charge 2 doesn’t have built in GPS. Therefore it will only track your route when you have your phone on you.

Your Fitbit uses the GPS signal from your phone during your route to see where you are.

My issue exactly. Two recent rides, not being recognised by Strava. Tried all the online troubleshooting suggestions... Nothing

Exactly the same problem. Then one activity synced then not working again.  Have you got a resolution?

Hello everyone in this thread @HilaryB21@MattKaleta@oldnancy@WalletWorries, and @DavidRuns! Sorry to hear you're having issues between Fitbit and Strava. Thanks for already troubleshooting this syncing issue, nice way to go!

Have you checked if you are able to see these activities on the web-based dashboard? If not yet, please try checking it to see if the issue is only coming from your Fitbit app.

If the data is also not on your web-based dashboard (I mean, missing in both platforms), to resolve the problem with Strava, please make sure you have connected your Strava account to Fitbit. For instructions to link them please visit this article.

To connect your Fitbit and Strava accounts once again:

  1. Visit http://strava.fitbit.com/ and tap or click Connect.
  2. Log in to your Strava account.
  3. When prompted, authorize Strava to connect to your Fitbit account and follow the on-screen instructions.

Your Fitbit activities will appear on Strava, and runs and rides tracked with Strava will contribute to your all-day Fitbit stats. If you want to export your GPS data from your Fitbit account to Strava, see How do I export Fitbit data?

Note the following types of activities won't sync to Strava:

  • Non-GPS activities
  • Previous activities that weren’t tracked by Strava.
  • Duplicate activities—that is, if you already recorded an activity with Strava, a Fitbit activity that occurs at the same time won't sync.

Give this a shot and let me know how it goes!

I have tried all of this and my first half marathon won't show up in Strava and it shows up fine on my Fitbit dashboard.
