Fitbit only ever shown simplified sleep

I bought both of my parents a charge 2 for Christmas, my dad’s one has never been able to track his sleep properly and had only ever given simplified sleep details, some times it shows he only went to bed at 6am etc..

his resting heart rate is extremely low, around 47bmp even though he is not physically fit, (this was checked by a doctor 2 years ago and all is fine. )

is his low heart rate the reason for the simplified sleep tracking? Or is there something wrong with the tracker?

Low heart rate is no problem.

I have a low heart rate and mine has always tracked ok, until this morning, no sleep data at all. I'm assuming it's a problem with the app.

The only time that I've had problems with it not showing stages of sleep is if I've had a nap, i.e. less than 3 hours, which they tell you about, and if I don't sync my watch daily. I assume that it does that to save memory.

Another thing to look at is not wearing the watch at the base of the wrist. Wear it a bit further up. I have an id bracelet between my hand and the fitbit. It does say, somewhere, to wear it a bit higher on your wrist.
