Fitbit the new scam?

I have been a fitbit customer for years...8 I think.

Purchased fitbits for my entire family and we have weekly competitions and to be honest I don't know what I would do without my fitbit.

But boy has the quality and customer service changed over the years.

I am on my third or fourth fitbit during this time.

Charge 3 -- stopped syncing, no texts or alarms, this weekend went completely black.

It now shows only the fitbit logo with 001 -- call fitbit for what seems like the 100th time and they won't honor the malfunction. As much as I hated the device not syncing it was still recording my HR & steps but now with the screen issues it's completely dead.

The absolute best they can do is 35% off an old model product.Well I received an email today they would upgrade my 35% to 50% but of course the link didn't work and two customer service agents can't help me. "Since we're having issues on the our system, I'll forward the case to the higher team department and they will check if they can send you the 50% discount since that's the offer for you. They will contact you via email once they have the resolution on this case." Did I mention this is a discount that does not work on new products?

I did not damage my fitbit, it's not working properly, I don't understand how this is my fault.

They will not replace it and expect me to invest more into their company when they don't know why the products malfunction.

Considering making the switch to the apple watch but I will miss the weekend/weekly challenges with my friends and family.

Feeling extremely frustrated and very torn here.

Anyone else?

I'm having an extremely hard time buying that FitBit didn't do some kind of update or SOMETHING to cause the sudden influx of Charge 3 screen issues. It's highly suspect and improbable that so many of us randomly experienced a full screen malfunction on the same day. I was having no battery problems, literally my unit was working perfectly one day and dead the next. have been a devoted FitBit user for a decade but I'm pretty sure I'm done. 35% is not enough enticement to purchase a NEW product, nevermind an older model that's clearly designed to fail in about a year (they made me the same **ahem**ty offer). My older units never failed me like this. The customer service for this issue has been awful and I'm seriously frustrated.
