Fitbit tracking steps for mowing

so when I mow the lawn (walk behind power mower) my Charge HR thinks I'm outdoor biking. (I get that, I'm moving through space but my arems aren't moving).

eg today I got 24 active minutes that way. But I'm going for steps not minutes and biking dispaly says I have 0 of 3001 steps attributed to this activity. So I edit the activity to mowing lawn. Now it says that 2441 of 3001 steps are attributed to that activity. Note these are not new steps. fitbit has sucked up steps from earlier in the day and assigned them to the time I was mowing the lawn even though it counted no steps during that interval. I think the 2441 steps should be added to my step count not just redistributed.

Is there a way to make this happen?

Hope you are doing great and enjoying some healthy activities @ginbqikCat Wink

I know that this response is delayed, but I'll be glad to explain you this. Since the Fitbit tracker uses a 3-axis accelerometer to measure the movement, it's going to track a step whenever you arm is moving, even if this is only the vibration from the power mower.

My suggestion in this cases is to manually log a Driving activity using the time you were on the power mower so you can negate all the activity from that time.

Let me know if you have questions.

Is there an answer for lawn mowing tracking steps during the time using a push mower?

Intense up and down hills and berms 1 acre, came up as around 2000 steps. It takes that amount to go down one side. Want to keep track of these steps as I mow these houses for customers.

My Fitbit is NOT counting my steps when I mow the lawn, it thinks I am riding a bicycle.  It's cheating me out of thousands of steps that I want logged.  How can I fix this?  I don't even own a bicycle.  It's time to do some mowing but I'd like to fix this problem first.    I'm in a solo challenge that I need a lot of steps for each day; I'd like all of my steps to be counted.

So I did go out and mow; today it does seem to be counting steps and not recording a "workout."  So for now, problem solved!
