When I go up stairs my new Charge 3 does not accurately record how many flights. If I go up 6 flights throughout the day which is pretty average it will record anywhere between 1-3 flights. My Charge 2 never did this. I do not use the railing with my Fitbit.

Hi @Lulabelle55, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post. Let me share with you that Fitbit devices detect floors with an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Your device is designed to detect pressure changes based on elevation gain.
Your device registers 1 floor when you climb about 10 feet, which is the average between residential and commercial floor heights. If you climb long staircases you may find that the floor count on your device doesn’t match the number of floors you climbed when the staircase is taller than 10 feet. Also, please restart your Charge 3 to refresh its performance and let me know if the issue persists.
I'll be around if you need anything else.

My new Charge 3 is still not accurately counting flights of stairs climbed. I go down and up stairs at least 3 sometimes 4 or 5 times a day and the most it has read in the two weeks I have had it is 2 flights. The response was that it reads by altimeter and to restart my Charge 3 but maybe I did that wrong. What exactly do I need to do to restart my Charge 3. Does that actually mean uninstall and then reinstall on my devices?
