GPS connection during runs drops

Hi All,

My Fitbit Charge 3 has worked fine during runs and tracked my runs flawlessly while paired to my Samsung Galaxy S7 since I bought it last year. I am not sure exactly when this problem began but it was probably within the last month.

The GPS connection during my runs drops and reconnects repeatedly causing the Charge 3 to vibrate over and over on my wrist and it also provides very inaccurate map results when I complete my run. I have tried everything I could think of to resolve this issue but nothing has worked. I have tried the following:

  • Restarted Bluetooth on my phone
  • Turned WiFi off on my phone
  • Restarted location on my phone
  • Restarted phone
  • Repaired the Charge 3 my phone/ app
  • Exercise --> Run --> Swipe up --> Use phone GPS (toggled on/off) / Auto pause (toggled on/off)
  • Reset Charge 3 on the charging cradle

There may have been more but I have tried a lot and tested it every time and nothing was successful in resolving my problem. The Fitbit and the app are both up to date as well. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tyler

I am having this exact same problem with my  Charge 3.  I have also tried all of the diagnostics listed above without any success.  Please help.

I created an RMA back when that happened and got a replacement and it worked. I suggest you do the same.

Same problem as the OP. Resetting phone and fitbit doesn't seem to change anything. Constantly vibrates while I run and the GPS map is missing a lot of turns.
