I get the same issue. Mine stops every time at .7 miles and I have tried switching the GPS setting and it still fails at the same distance. I tried different routes as well. This never happened before until recent.

I am still on previous version 48.20001.96.29 and am having same issue.   I was hoping that when the new version upgrade became available to me that this issue would resolve itself.    Spent some time chatting to the help desk last weekend; uninstalling and reinstalling my HRCharge, worked for the first day and then reverted back to losing the GPS connection within like 10 mins or about just under a Km.    Obviously this seems to be an issue allround and has only been happening recently for some reason...

I got confirmation from the Support agent that it's a known problem on the Charge 4. but there is no date on when this problem will be fixed. After resetting my device. i run into a new issue. the workout would just self-terminate, that just make it even more painful to have a partially tracked workout without GPS data. i did a 1 hour, 50 mins workout.. and ended up tracking one workout for  1 hour 4 mins.

I can tell you... I'm on 48.20001.100.43 and I'm still having this issue.

I have to say, I expected more/better when Google bought FitBit.  But it seems more of the same from them.  It's kind of ironic... FitBit does the worst at what it's really designed to do - track fitness.  Notifications from other apps, etc. all seem to work great.  But this GPS thing has been a headache for several years it seems.

I bought the Charge 4 because it's such a hassle carrying a phone.  And even the Charge 3 didn't always play nice with the phone... I'd run GPS apps at the same time I'd run the Charge 3, and the GPS apps would always track my workout great, but the Charge would have huge gaps in time missing.

For me when I track an "outdoor workout" it doesn't lose the connection. When I track a walk it did after about 15 minutes.

Hi James

I tried the Charge 5 and it was same in regards to GPS losing connection within 10 mins or 1/2 klm.   Sent it back as its no better than Charge 4...although did like colour screen.  My Charge 4 had a firmware update 2 nights back and GPS via phone still same message however my onboard GPS worked today...fingers crossed!!

I have always had a fitbit since day dot so hoping issue is resolved as dont wish to go to another brand

Regards Leanne
