How can I fix this?
Moderator Edit: Clarified subject
Hello, I am trying to change my Display name and when I try to save it, it gives me a Network error, please try again in a few minutes. I have closed the Fitbit app and reopened it. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it. I have rebooted my phone. I have tried over two days and it will not save.
Please advise. I do not want to participate in the community unless I can change the display name.

Let me help you with changing your display and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Are you talking about the username on the Fitbit Community. If this is correct then try changing it using a computer's web browser like Firefox or Chrome.

Hi, I’m having exactly the same issues and have tried to reboot my phone and updated the app.
I’m having the same network error issues when trying to change my name on Fitbit. It’s been happening for 5 days now. I’ve tried both the Fitbit dashboard and app on both mine and my partners phone. Rebooted the app and updated and still no luck x

Same issue. And I'm on App Version 3.27.
What's next?

Thanks for keeping me posted and trying the troubleshooting tips shared in my post. I've gone ahead and forwarded your details to our team so they can further investigate this situation. I understand your point of view about not being able to change your username and please know that your feedback was passed along. Once I have more details, I'll update this thread.

So, I also had this issue. Just toying around with the field seems to suggest that capital letters and spaces are considered "special" letters and are not allowed. It seems that you can only have a "one word" username using only lower case letters. -_-

I've been having the same problem for the past few days. I did the 5 steps prescribed by @LizzyFitbit above, including updating the app to version 3.39 (iOS), and still no joy. Now what??
I’ve received this error for several months! I’ve tried all the troubleshooting suggestions. I successfully changed my username in the past and would simply like to change it back to my original username. It’s been more than 60 days. What should I try next?
