Hi Jessica
From @AlvaroFitbit in this thread
The greeting will show when you unplug your tracker from the charging cable but if you press the button when unplugging it then it will skip the greeting and show you the normal stats. Next time you charge it make sure not to press the button and you should see the greeting.

@Jessica82 Welcome to our Community! As @SunsetRunner guide you to my explanation in a different thread I thought I should also add the new information posted there. I have been experimenting with my Charge 2 and could see that you also see the greeting after you remove it for some time. In my case is for 45 minutes when I get ready to get out in the morning. The greeting is a series of friendly messages that you see when you pick up your tracker. If you know someone that uses a Fitbit One then they should be really familiar with this feature and the messages are just to be funny and encourage you to be active.
Let me know how it goes!

@AlvaroFitbit I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I switched fitbit's and saw the greeting popup on the charge 2

@Rich_Laue Nice to read that! It's a feature I always liked about my Fitbit One and kinda missed with the Charge HR (it only showed the greeting when you unplugged it after charging it) but I can see that the Charge 2 shows it more often than other trackers.
I'll be around!

I have a charge two and I have been wondering how to get the greeting to show up. I have been looking at other FAQ sites but none of them helped. Your post said that they pop up more often on the charge 2 but I have not been able to set up my greeting; could anyone help?

@LuluDP as stated abov, your tracker will display a greeting when it's unplugged from its charger.
You can also see the greeting by taking it off for, I think 20 minutes, when you first pick it up you'll see it also.

@LuluDP Welcome to our Community! If you are using a mobile device you can go to your tracker's settings (tap the tracker's icon) and enter your name so it can be displayed with the greeting. On the website just click the gear icon and then the tracker's icon to change it's settings. It will show sporadically but should appear when it has been removed for some time (in my case when getting ready in the morning it stays on my bed or table for 45 minutes and will see the greeting when I pick it up or after charging it without pressing the button it will show the greeting). The greeting it self will vary and could be from "Ready?" to "Let's go" or simple friendly messages like those.
Keep me posted!

MY Greeting on my new Charge 2 is nowhere to be found... I set it up just like I did with my ONE which always worked perfectly.. if it's around it sure is hiding..

@Stakeout Thanks for stopping by! I suggest you go to your tracker's settings area and enable the greeting there (turning it on and entering your name or nickname). You will only see the greeting after you don't wear your tracker for a period of time (around 30 to 45 minutes based on my one personal experience).

I just discovered the greeting feature and came here to find out its purpose. It appears it can be inspirational. I tried using "Carpe diem," but found I was limited to 8 characters, including spaces. I settled on "namaste," at least for now.
I suppose I should also mention that I had just updated my Charge 2's firmware, and I've no idea if that update altered the length allowed for the greeting.

@Lauren0099 I hope you're doing well! As you said the Greeting is just a series of funny, encouraging messages and the limit has always been 8 characters so don't worry about it. Your name is supposed to go in the greeting so you will read something like "Lets go Lauren!" and similar messages.
Keep me posted!

On my charge 2, when I first put it on in the morning, it would display a
random message... "Looking good!", "How you doin'?", 'Let's do this"
I want that on my Charge 3.

That option is not available on the charge 3.
This greeting has nothing to do with the morning. This greeting comes after the tracker has been sitting still and then picked up.
I thought you where saying that after waking up and looking at your wrist you would get a greeting.

All you have to do is open up the account page, then press on charge two, and click on “greeting” then set a greeting

Hi @Selgamerz10 what tracker do you have?
You want to tap in the upper left corner of the Fitbit app. Then Tap your tracker model to get to the tracker settings.
