When looking at my heart rate across the day and night, its constantly in fat burn mode and at every point when you tap on the data it says out of range. How do I fix it to be blue data, not always orange and yellow? My heart rate is always between 60-70 unless I'm exercising. Settings haven't been touched. Its ALWAYS in fat burn mode, even when im sleeping. Every point i tap in the heart rate sections says my data is out if range. My heart rate is accurate.

Fat burn zone means your heart rate is functioning at 50-69% of maximum. That is low to medium intensity exercise. To get out of that range you need to get your heart rate up higher through higher intensity exercise. Cardio zone is 70-84% of maximum and peak is greater than 85%. If you want to see more info in your fit app hit the heart rate tile and then the ? in the upper right. Scroll down to the heart rate info.

@CassieSummer If you are looking at phone app from clicking on heart rate, then swiping to 3rd screen, that graph is meant to only show amount of time in 3 exercise zones: fat burn, cardio, and peak. It does not include time when heart rate is below fat burn zone. To see heart rate all during day (and night), can look at fitbit.com dashboard and select heart rate - daily. The yellow is below fat burn. Don't know of any place with a blue colored zone.

Have you tried checking your pulse to see if the heart rate is actually right? If it is you might have a high heart rate, before I got in shape mine ALWAYS showed me in fat burn unless I was sleeping.
Try resetting the device and your phone. If you check your pulse and it's way off and resetting everything doesn't work, contact customer support for a replacement!

Thats not what I mean sorry, ive attached a pic to help explain. Settings show fat burn mode should only be from 95bpm yet it's showing yellow when it's well below that.

It would be helpful to tell where that graph came from. I know I just saw it on mine yesterday, but there are so many ways to see different graphs on different apps, different tiles, etc. but I think the confusion is:
Out of range means below fatburn zone, i.e. not in an exercise zone.
Yellow is below fatburn zone, i.e. non-exercise
Light orange is fatburn zone
Darker orange is cardio
Red is peak
There is no blue zone.
You can see these better if look at fitbit.com dashboard for daily heart rate and move mouse over chart to see color key.

I am CassieSummer's friend and it was in comparing our data that we noticed the difference. Mine certainly never says 'out of range' when I select a certain point. I have compared my heart rate charts with other friends before and I've never seen one look how CassieSummer's looks - except for when I googled "out of zone heart rate on fit bit, where one person had asked in the fit bit community and received similar confused responses... I'm tipping this must be something faulty.
People keep saying there is no blue zone, but there is...it's everything below fat burning zone.
This chart is accessed by going into the heart rate option, then selecting any particular day.
Here is mine, and any typical chart I've seen looks like this:

As you can see, just as CassieSummer has in her screen shot, i have selected over a certain time and it shows what my heart rate was at that particular time, it does not say "out of zone" and because it is below 96 (where my fat burning zone begins) it is shown in blue on the chart.

@LittleLadyBoIs that from an iPhone?
Mine (Android version 2.52) looks just like Cassie's. I never had any reason to question it. Wondering if it could be a difference between iPhone & Android apps.
I'm looking at what looks a lot like yours on Android phone, but the heading, as well as the colors, looks a little different. Mine has the date under "beats Per Minute" without the color key.

Yes, mine says "out of range" which I always took to mean below the exercise heart rate zones.
And there is no blue zone on the dashboard chart on fitbit.com.

I think you'll find the answer in settings. Go to your app, select Account, then go to Heart Rate Zones. Look in there and see if Custom Max Heart Rate and Custom Zone is on or off. They should both be set to off (ie button to left/grey). It looks like yours has been set to think anything above say 40bpm is fatburn etc. Try that anyway

I was in Fat Burn Zone for nearly 9 hours yesterday. I was active, but not THAT active. It said I burnt 1400 calories in Fat Burn Zone. I find this hard to believe, does this mean my metabolism is pretty high?

My resting heartrate is in the 120's.
My heart rate is in the mid 80's while sleeping. My heart rate rises the moment I stand up in the morning. I have a heart condition though. It's one of the main reasons why I bought the Fit Bit. Its helps alot. Though it does drive me nuts because sitting it says I'm in fat burn mode and walking I'm in cardio. So it does seem to keep me on edge.

I have the same issue and it started when I became pregnant in August and even though lost the pregnancy late September it continues to show fat burn mode for long periods of the day which is very annoying. I don’t want to reset it because I don’t want to lose the data. My Fitbit is a new purchase since May 2019.
