Horizontal lines across Charge 3 display

Hi, My Fitbit Charge 3 is 11 months, and last week it got horizontal lines across the screen. It is now very difficult to read the display. I have tried restart and other tips, but nothing works. And as this not enough, the dealer here in Norway has gone bankrupt. What am I doing?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @SteinAmund.

I am sorry to hear your Charge 3 has horizontal lines across the screen. Thanks for trying to resolve this and providing the additional details, I understand your concern and I am here to help. Since you've tried to restart the tracker, I would like to confirm if you've tried doing a long restart:

  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Looking forward to your response.

Although i am not the original Charge 3 owner who wrote this, I too had the same Gray on gray striped VERTICAL stripes on my Charge 3 face

It had a charge of 99% battery, I plugged it in the charging cable.  Held the button for 15 seconds, and I got the series of short vibrations as mentioned above. .

the Charge 3 shut off.  When I turned it back on, the Gray on Gray vertical stripes were just as they were before this procedure.

now what should I try?

Good Morning,

I have the exact same issue and I have tried what you have suggested. I did it several times last night and then tried to leave it charging through the night and again tried to resolve it this morning. Nothing is working.

Yesterday when I woke up my Fitbit was fine, in the afternoon it had the lines running down it and it was hard to read. As the evening progressed and the more times I reset the device the worse the screen got. It is now almost impossible to read it.

Please help.

Hi,

I too am suffering from the black lines issue...

At first is was just 2 or 3 lines, but now I can't even read the battery %age and the lines have spread from all near the top to some even in the middle of the screen...

I have tried long and short resets all to no avail.

As the number of lines increases, the usability slowly decreases.

Any and all help appreciated...

I received my Fitbit (Charge 3) for Christmas 2018 and I have reset it 3 times in the last week.  After the first restart, the screen came up with the horizontal lines.  The lines stayed in the screen.  This last reset, my screen will not come up at all.  It’s still tracking my steps.  This is my second Fitbit Charge 3 and I’m highly disappointed.

I used the restart method that’s been posted for others in this post.

please let me know if my watch can be fixed or if I need to switch brands.

thank you

Tracy
